Wine area · Gibbston
Gibbston wineries
Gibbston lies east of Queenstown along the Kawarau Gorge and is the highest subregion. Its cooler climate and north-facing hillside vines ripen later than in the neighbouring subregions, giving lighter but still intense wines (New Zealand Winegrowers).
