Eola-Amity Hills wineries

The Eola-Amity Hills rise beside the Willamette River, with the Eola Hills straddling the 45th parallel in the south and the Amity Hills to the north. The soils are mostly volcanic basalt mixed with marine sediment, shallow, rocky and well drained, and cool ocean winds through the Van Duzer Corridor lower the temperature on late-summer afternoons and keep the acidity firm. About 1,240 hectares of vines grow in 125 vineyards, mostly Pinot noir.
