Wine area · Mount Pisgah, Polk County, Oregon AVA
Mount Pisgah wineries
Mount Pisgah, Polk County, Oregon is the valley’s second-smallest AVA but one of its most densely planted. The mountain began as a volcano on the sea floor 65 million years ago and was later covered by marine sediment and pushed up out of the ocean. Its vineyards benefit from the warmth near the Willamette River, the mild Van Duzer winds and the rain shadow of Laurel Mountain; Pinot noir, Pinot gris, Pinot blanc, Chardonnay and Tempranillo are grown here.
