Tualatin Hills wineries
The Tualatin Hills AVA, in the northwest corner of the Willamette Valley, is named after and largely defined by the watershed of the Tualatin River, and is home to Oregon’s very first commercial vineyard. It has Oregon’s largest concentration of Laurelwood soil, windblown loess left by the Missoula Floods, and lies between about 60 and 300 metres in the rain shadow of the Coast Range. Pinot noir, Pinot gris, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer are grown here.
