Montagne de Reims wineries
The Montagne de Reims is the wooded plateau between Reims and Épernay, ringed by vineyards on its northern, eastern and southern slopes. Pinot Noir is the main grape, and famous villages such as Verzenay, Verzy, Mailly-Champagne, Ambonnay and Bouzy are grands crus. Reims itself, with its cathedral and the chalk cellars of the great houses, is the area’s capital; the Massif de Saint-Thierry north-west of the city is shown here too.
