Montalcino wineries
The hill town of Montalcino south of Siena is home to Brunello di Montalcino, made only from Sangiovese and aged for years before release, and the younger Rosso di Montalcino. Estates surround the town on every side, from Torrenieri in the north to Sant’Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo dell’Abate, near the abbey of Sant’Antimo, in the south.
