Atlas Peak wineries
Atlas Peak is a rugged, high-lying AVA in the Vaca Mountains, from about 230 to 790 metres. It lies above the fog line, about 6–8 °C cooler than the valley floor in summer, and its shallow red volcanic soils hold little water. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are the main grapes.
