Crystal Springs wineries
Crystal Springs is made up entirely of hillsides on the western face of the Vaca Range just northeast of St. Helena, at about 120 to 430 metres. The west- and southwest-facing slopes get a lot of sun but are often in fog, and the volcanic soils lie on steep grades of 15 to 40%. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay are the main grapes.
