Mount Veeder is rugged mountain country from about 150 to 790 metres, where low yields give long-lived wines. Most vineyards lie above the fog line, on shallow, well-drained soils of former seabed. Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Zinfandel are the main grapes.
