Oakville wineries

Oakville spans a well-drained expanse of gravel soil near the middle of the valley, at about 40 to 300 metres. Summers are warm, often around 35 °C, but evening and morning fog help keep the acidity in the grapes. Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are the main grapes.
