Kremstal.
The vineyards around the old wine town of Krems on the Danube: weathered primary rock in Krems and Stein, great loess terraces to the east and small wine villages south of the river below Göttweig Abbey. Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, sold as Kremstal DAC since 2007. All 168 producers from Falstaff’s guide, Lower Austria’s Heurigen calendar and OpenStreetMap on one map, with wine taverns, restaurants, places to stay and directions by train, bus and bike.
