South East wineries

The South East – Kent, Sussex, Surrey and south London – has more than half of the UK’s vineyards and is the cradle of traditional method sparkling wine in the UK (WineGB). Chalk runs through the North and South Downs, alongside greensand, Wealden and London clay soils. Sussex has the UK’s first regional PDO, which requires at least 15 months in bottle.
