Calistoga wineries

Calistoga lies at the top of the valley, from about 90 to 370 metres. Summer days can pass 38 °C, while evening breezes from the Pacific through the Chalk Hill Gap cool the nights to about 6 °C. The soils are almost entirely volcanic, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Syrah are the main grapes.
